1. Origin of the name

Name giraffe absorb from one Arab vocabulary, Xirapha’. For Arabian Xirapha means ‘ a very fast walker’. The binomial name is Giraffa camelopordalis. A full-grown giraffe can eat around 100 pounds of leaves every day

Zoologists called Giraffe male as bull, Giraffe female as cow, Giraffe cub as calf and giraffe population as herd. A Cow can grow max up to 4.3 meters tall (2.500 weight) and a calf only need one hour before it can stands on its own legs
3. Has camel-like ability
Similar as a camel, since born, every giraffe has a small hump, which works as a nutrition container. In the wild or zoo, their favorite plant is Acacia leaves, wild apricot leaves, and mimosas. In a place with abundant source of water, each giraffe could drink ten gallons of water every day.

They use it to chew fresh foliage repeatedly, they use it to pick fresh leaves on top branch, they use it to clean off their face from bugs and nostrils, and they use it to produce special enzyme to “unharmed” thorns before they swallow it.
7.Giraffe communication
Giraffe is not a quite animal. They communicate, chats, and say hi to other herd at an infrasonic level or ultrasonic level. We need same technology to hear bat communications to hear their chat.
8. Stand up all day
Almost all time, giraffe is standing up even when they sleep or give birth. One giraffe is only need 5 to 30 minutes a day to standing-sleep. Unlike human, a new brown giraffe should fall 6 feet off the ground before they could take oxygen.

In the wild, giraffe can live up to a quarter decade. In the zoo, the can live up to 3 years longer and if they separate from their herd, most predator they will meet is a pack of lion or hyena

Giraffe’s spot is a birthmark and each one of them is unique. When they got older, their spot is darker. Their spot is the easiest way to spot the leader of the herd.
